About Pieter Pretorius

Meet one of South Africa’s BEST Weightlifting Coaches with years of experience under his belt with numerous National and International titles from his athletes he has worked with and now you get the chance to be remote coached by him.

Summary of achievements

I am a weightlifting and strength & conditioning coach with extensive experience in coaching and aim to inspire athletes to commit to both short and long-term performance goals. Coupled with as strong understanding of sports performance and nutrition. As already mentioned, I am a high performance weightlifting and strength and conditioning coach and have been the Provincial weightlifting coach for Eastern Cape weightlifting team as well as SA national team.

2018
• Selected as Head Coach for South African Youth and Junior Weightlifting team for African Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Cairo Egypt. 
• Selected as Head Coach for South African Senior Weightlifting team for African Senior Weightlifting   
Championships in Mahébourg, Mauritius
• Selected as Head Coach for South African Youth Weightlifting team for Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina
• Selected as Head Coach for South African Senior Weightlifting team for IWF Senior Weightlifting Championships in 
Ashgabat Turkmenistan

2017
• Selected as Head Coach for South African Senior Weightlifting team for African Senior Weightlifting Championships in Mauritius
• Selected as Coach for South African Youth and Junior Weightlifting team for African Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Uganda
• I successfully completed the International Weightlifting Federation Certification Course in Coaching Training Education

2016 
• Successfully completed my National Referees exam

Curt Pretorius

• Tom equalled his SA Youth Snatch record and set a new clean and jerk SA record in the 94kg class

• Mona Pretorius holds the record for the heaviest snatch and clean and jerk lifted by a South African Female in all weight categories.
• Mona Pretorius was the cover photo for Africa Weightlifting Federation Facebook page 
• Mona Pretorius Hall of Fame for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University
• Mona Pretorius became only the 2nd female in history and the 2nd weightlifting athlete after being readmitted into the Commonwealth to medal at the games

• Tom Farquhar holds the record for the heaviest snatch and clean and jerk lifted by a South African youth male in all weight categories
• Curt Pretorius shares the heaviest clean and jerk lifted by a SA youth with Tom Farquhar
